Character Development

Primus Schoolhouse believes character development is fundamentally important, which is why teaching values is at the core of our philosophy.

We know children are capable of developing foundational social-emotional skills and character traits at an early age.

With this in mind – and knowing the extent to which children’s early social-emotional development can shape their ability to cope, relate to others and show compassion later in life.

Character development for preschoolers at Primus Schoolhouse is developed through the Virtues Project.

The Virtues Project is based on the beliefs and virtues valued by diverse cultures and world religions. Its mission is to provide empowering strategies that inspire the practice of virtues in everyday life.

The Virtues Project enables us to address not only our core values, but also to meet the personal and social development goals at the heart of our goal for the children to develop good character.

“Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit;
sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.”
(Stephen R Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People)
